IGNITE! GALA CONCERT
August 7 - 8, 2021
In the glorious grounds of Heathfield School, Ascot
The Ignite! Gala Concert will be a celebration of everything restarting after lockdown.
To inspire, motivate and dream of bigger and better things.
To ignite your love of theatre.
To ignite your hopes.
To ignite your dreams.
2 performances each day: 2pm and 6pm.
Running time approx. 2 hours.
It will be an outdoor event under the glorious summer sky so you can bring your picnic blanket, hamper and drinks and enjoy the talent of Ocean in this special event.
Socially distanced grassed areas for blankets and chairs.
In addition you can pre-book a pitch to erect your own gazebo. All available when booking tickets.
With 4 performances over 2 days, the concert will be songs and dances from shows that we normally couldn’t do at Ocean.
Some shows are ‘ok’ but have a great song buried within it.
Some shows are just not appropriate - but a hidden gem can be found.
Some shows we can’t get the rights to, so we’ve taken a song from these elusive shows as well.
We shortlisted over 90 songs down to a hit collection of classic and new tunes.
With all singing, dancing, some surprises and fun along the way. Something for everyone to enjoy.
With hits from shows like MAMMA MIA, RENT, SHREK, CABARET, HAIRSPRAY, BLOOD BROTHERS, and many, many more.
The cast is made up of the current members, alumni and one of our youth members.
A real celebration of who we are, how we’ve been, and why we are going to ignite the world with our passion, drive and creativity.
We are meeting the Industry Standard for following government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, having a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
Every theatre performance is unique, but this is especially the case at this site where the stage, grass and entire auditorium are uncovered.
Each visit can be distinctly different as the weather and light spontaneously interact with the play. Warm or cool, clear or overcast, the point at which dusk turns to night, being outdoors all adds a thrilling contribution to our work and is an integral part of your experience here.
It's best to come prepared for all types of weather: bringing your own shade in the afternoon is particularly important as is a jumper for the end of evening performances. So sun hats, sun cream, sunglasses, raincoats and rain hats should all be considered.
Will I need to wear a mask?
We recommend the wearing of face coverings when arriving, leaving, moving around the site, and using our toilet facilities.
